Payment Gateway Explainer 4
Dear BIBC Employer,
This communication serves as a final reminder regarding the implementation of the new payment gateway for all Employer's Benefit Return payments, effective 13 August 2025. This transition is designed to provide a more secure and efficient payment process for you.
Summary of Previous Explainers
In our previous communications, which can be viewed here, we have informed you that the BIBC is adopting the Ozow payment gateway to streamline the process of submitting payments. Ozow is a trusted, instant EFT provider that will integrate directly with your bank, eliminating manual capturing of payment details and reducing the risk of human error. This is a crucial step in modernizing our systems to ensure your payments are processed accurately and swiftly.
Why Ozow is a Secure and Efficient Choice
Ozow is a leading payment solution in South Africa, renowned for its high level of security. It uses state-of-the-art encryption and does not store your banking login details. The system integrates directly with your bank's secure portal, ensuring that your payment is authenticated and processed in real-time. This not only enhances security but also provides you with immediate confirmation of your payment, allowing for a more efficient and transparent process.
Submitting Returns vs. Making Payments
We understand that in many companies, the person who submits the Employer's Benefit Return may not be the same person who is authorised to make the payment. To facilitate this, the new system allows the person completing the return to forward a secure payment link directly to the person responsible for making the payment. This ensures a seamless workflow within your organisation without compromising security.
Important Notice: Portal Downtime
Please be aware that to accommodate the final implementation of the payment gateway, the eesi (c) 2.0 portal will be temporarily unavailable. The downtime is scheduled to begin at 00h00 on the 13th of August 2025 and will conclude at 07h00 on the same day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we upgrade our systems.
