What is the Sick fund?
This fund is applicable to all employees that are subject to the provisions of the BIBC collective agreement.
Only the employer contributes to the Sick Fund.
Who qualifies for Sick Fund benefits?
- An employee who is ill.
- An employee who is on maternity leave.
How does an employee qualify for Sick Fund benefits?
- An employee must have worked for a minimum of 18 weeks (or 90 days) before claiming sick leave benefits.
- An employee must have submitted an approved sick/medical certificate.
